More information

Add your students

  • Type them in: click Type student list and enter one student per line, name then grade. For example: Ava Martinez K
  • Import a spreadsheet: click Import student list and choose the file. It needs a column for names and a column for grades.
  • Add them on the chart: click any empty seat and type the name and grade.

A typed or imported list is seated by grade, youngest in front. You’re never locked into one way: type or import a list, then add, move or fix students right on the chart whenever you like.

Make changes

  • Move a student: drag them to a new seat. Drop them on another student to trade places.
  • Change a student: click their name to fix the spelling or grade, mark them AM only or PM only, give them one of your two custom labels (green or red), or remove them.
  • Custom labels: name each one whatever you like, such as Captain or Helper. The name shows in the legend at the bottom of the chart. Click Rename to change it. A student can have one label at a time.

Save, print and share

  • Save chart keeps a copy you can change later. It goes in your Downloads folder.
  • Open chart brings a saved chart back.
  • Print makes a paper copy. Use a color printer.
  • Save PDF makes a finished copy to email or keep.

New school year

Click New school year. Everyone moves up a grade, 5th graders are removed, and the front seats open up for kindergarten.
